About
Who We Are
Broadwell Center is a 501(c)(3) public charity whose mission is to create opportunities to experience stress relief in nature.
Broadwell Center has an all-volunteer board of directors.
What We Do
We directly serve groups of people who are living with stress or who are trauma survivors, as well as their families and their caregivers.
Our clients are organizations in the community that send us small groups, such as:
-
nonprofit organizations that directly serve the same types of groups that we serve
We connect ...
-
a group of about ten to twelve people at a time
-
with or without a group leader from their organization
-
with one of our guides
-
in a natural setting
-
chosen with consideration for any requested accommodations
-
for a scheduled half-day experiential walk
-
where evidence-based practices of stress relief are offered.
The kinds of practices we present are generally forms of moving meditation and mindfulness.
We use objective criteria to decide whether to place a licensed professional (e.g. therapist or social worker) with a group in addition to the guide.
